THE Philippine College of Technology (PCT)-Medvil and Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs drew first blood by beating their respective opponents at the start of the Davao Football Association (DFA) Inter-Collegiate tournament at the Tiongko field over the weekend.

 

 

PCT-Medvil, coached by Ramonito "Lalas" Carreon, stunned more seasoned University of Mindanao (UM), 1-0, with former 2011 under-19 national team member Jomar Acedo blasting the goal in the 20th minute.

Carreon said, "Excellent team work plus superb performance of our goalkeeper Dominador G. Tato who saved UM's penalty and numerous attempts."

He then thanked PCT owners Gener Balili and Rosinni Balili for witnessing the game Sunday.

 

 

PCT-Medvil names new varsity players

THE Philippine College of Technology (PCT) Medvil-Football Club named the new members of the football varsity team after qualifying during the tryout held recently at Tionko Football Grounds, Quimpo Boulevard.

 

Mark Anthony Toledo, Joef John Jaboc, Brandon Martinez and Ryan Sumcio were the top qualifiers for PCT-Medvil FC college team while passing high school tryout were Eric Loteria Jr., Rafael Marco Escoses and Reynaldo Flores Jr. to add among the existing players, Josua and John Labang.

Other players who have been scouted were Khalil Jikiri, Philip Jay Kho, Christian David Eral, Ricky Martin Fernandez, Acebon Mangahas, Leevrev Mangahas and Khirching Sagaray.

In an email sent to Sun.Star Davao, Coach Ramonito "Lalas" Carreon said that PCT-Medvil FC is still looking for six more players who will receive a 100 percent varsity scholarship from PCT.

Carreon said that the club is now preparing for the upcoming Davao Football Association Challenge Cup slated on May 24 at Tionko Football Grounds and at the same time planning to join this year’s Private Schools Athletic Association. (MDC)
